Holi - Festival of colours Venue:
Platt Fields Park, Manchester If coming by car please use post code M14 6LA. Access to the car park is via Langley Road (off Wilmslow Road, on the corner with USDAW trade union office). On entering the park, please turn on hazard lights and drive at 5mph. Time: 1pm to 4pm Dry powder colours will be on sale at a nominal price. Please do not bring your own colours. Please do not come in your best clothes, wear something that you do not mind getting colours on, wear white if possible and play with colours in designated area only. Playing with colours (till 2pm), food and activity stalls 1pm to 4pm. A
spectacular and contemporary celebration of the festivals of Dashehra and
Diwali in Manchester’s city centre with live music and dance on two
stages, and, in Albert Square. The programme includes Bollywood, folk and classical dances
of India and street theatre performances in Albert Square. Other activities include participative arts and crafts (henna, rangoli, face painting, lantern making, paper craft, balloon modelling and more in Town Hall and Manchester Central Library. After dark, there will be a beautiful lantern procession followed by a finale show with fireworks. |
